Barolingo Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern the use of the Barolingo application and related services (the "Service") provided by wowpia (the "Company"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About the Service

Barolingo is a mobile learning service designed for non-native English speakers, training users to understand English through chunk-based sequential comprehension. Features include Flow/Quiz modes, learning statistics, rankings, and a chunk dictionary.

2. Acceptance and Changes

• These Terms take effect when you accept them during sign-up.
• The Company may amend these Terms within the scope of applicable law.
• Changes are announced at least 7 days before the effective date (30 days for changes unfavorable to users).
• If you disagree with amendments, you may discontinue use by deleting your account.

3. Account

• Sign-up is through supported social accounts (Kakao, Google, Apple).
• Each social account may have only one user account.
• Users under 14 years old require parental consent to register.
• You are responsible for the security of your account credentials.

4. Service Availability

• The Service is provided 24/7 but may be temporarily suspended for maintenance, emergencies, or infrastructure changes.
• The Company may modify or discontinue features without prior notice when required for quality, legal compliance, or security.
• You must use the Service only for personal learning purposes.

5. User Obligations

You must not:

• Impersonate others or provide false information.
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without prior written approval.
• Access the Service through automated tools (bots, scripts).
• Interfere with normal operation or overload our servers.
• Copy, distribute, or republish Service content without authorization.
• Violate applicable laws or public order.

6. Content and Copyright

• All learning content within Barolingo (English sentences, chunk segmentation, translations, audio, images, UI) is owned by the Company or authorized rights holders.
• Content may be accessed for personal learning only. External copying, modification, or sharing is prohibited.
• Data created by users within the Service (such as learning records) belongs to the user. The Company uses it only to provide and improve the Service.

7. Paid Services (Subscriptions)

• The Company may offer paid subscription plans such as Pro or Pro+. (The MVP launch runs as a free service.)
• Subscription fees, payment methods, refund policies, and cancellation procedures will be disclosed separately upon launch of paid services.
• In-app payments follow Google Play or App Store billing, and the respective platform's refund policy may take precedence.

8. Account Deletion

• You may permanently delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account.
• Upon deletion, your personal data and learning records are promptly deleted, except for minimum retention periods required by law.
• The Company may terminate your account after prior notice if you materially breach these Terms or applicable laws.

9. Limitation of Liability

• The Company is not liable for inability to provide the Service due to force majeure, government actions, carrier failures, or other causes outside its control.
• The Company does not guarantee any specific learning outcomes or financial gains from using the Service.
• The Company is not responsible for the accuracy or reliability of content posted or transmitted by users.

10. Dispute Resolution

• Matters not covered by these Terms are governed by the laws and customs of the Republic of Korea.
• Disputes will first be resolved through good-faith negotiation.
• If unresolved, the Seoul Central District Court has exclusive jurisdiction.
