Moodva ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Moodva (the "App").

Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Mood entries: Daily mood scores (1–5) and mood tags you select
• Habit data: Habits you create and daily completion logs
• Journal entries: Text you write in the micro-journal feature
• App preferences: Notification settings, theme preferences, onboarding choices

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage analytics: Anonymous app usage events (e.g., "mood logged," "habit checked") via Firebase Analytics
• Crash reports: Anonymous crash data to improve app stability
• Device information: Device type, operating system version (for compatibility purposes)

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any account credentials (no account required)
• We do not collect precise location data
• We do not access your contacts, camera, or photos
• We do not collect payment information directly (handled by Apple App Store / Google Play)

3. How We Use Your Information

Local Data (on your device)

Your mood entries, habits, journal entries, and insights are stored locally on your device using SQLite. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the export feature.

AI Insight Generation

When generating AI insights, Moodva sends a anonymized summary of your recent data (mood scores, habit completion rates, and brief journal excerpts) to Anthropic's Claude API. This data is:

• Sent over encrypted HTTPS connections
• Not stored by Anthropic beyond the API request
• Not used to train AI models
• Limited to the minimum necessary for insight generation

Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App. All analytics data is anonymized and aggregated. We use this data solely to improve the App experience.

Advertising

Free users see banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use anonymized device identifiers for ad personalization. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings. Pro subscribers see no advertisements.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your personal data (mood, habits, journals) is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's built-in security mechanisms. We implement appropriate technical measures to protect any data transmitted to our service providers.

We retain anonymized analytics data for up to 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share anonymized, aggregated data with:

• Anthropic: For AI insight generation (anonymized data summaries only)
• Google Firebase: For anonymized analytics and crash reporting
• Google AdMob: For serving advertisements to free users
• RevenueCat: For managing in-app subscriptions (no personal data beyond purchase records)

All third-party service providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Data Export

You can export all your data at any time via Profile → Export your data. This generates a CSV file containing all your mood, habit, and journal data.

Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time via Profile → Delete all my data. This permanently removes all locally stored data from your device.

Notification Preferences

You can enable or disable push notifications at any time via Profile → Notifications or through your device's Settings app.

Advertising Opt-Out

You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device's privacy settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

7. Children's Privacy

Moodva is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete such information.

8. International Users

Moodva is operated from South Korea and is intended for users worldwide. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. Please contact us for more information.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
